Nanoscribe (Karlsruhe, Germany) is further expanding its sales and service activities in the U.S. with the opening of a new location in Boston, MA. The company, which manufactures 3D printers for 3D microfabrication, sees this step as an important element of its internationalization strategy.

Many universities in the U.S. already rely on Nanoscribe's 3D microfabrication technology, such as Harvard University and Boston University in Massachusetts, and Stanford University and the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in California. In addition to the steady expansion of relations with the science and research market, the company now also intends to push ahead with market penetration in the industrial environment, starting with the first pioneering customers.

The U.S. location opening follows the establishment of a subsidiary in China in 2018. The company was founded in 2007 from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)with more than 70 employees, it intends to increasingly focus on solutions for industrial manufacturing in the future.

To match this, the company recently developed its Quantum X maskless lithography system, which uses two-photon grayscale lithography (2GL) technology for producing challenging microoptical components. The 2GL additive manufacturing process combines grayscale lithography with the company's continuously evolving two-photon polymerization (2PP) process.

The Boston subsidiary is set to open on August 1, 2019.
